The fuel tank, i.e. the fuel storage unit, has high requirements for corrosion resistance. At dual operating pressures, it should be sealed at a gauge pressure of at least 0.03 MPa. The excess pressure generated must be self-reducing via a safety hole or safety valve, and fuel should not flow from the fuel tank Cap or pressure balancing device when driving on curves, inclined roads or under impact.
The fuel tank Cap is a rotatable knob which is turned to the left to open the tank and to the right to close it, when turned to the right and a click is heard it is fully closed.
The fuel tank Cap is usually designed as a jaw type and with the corrugated leaf elastomer spring pressed rubber gasket to clamp the gasoline tank opening circumference to ensure a seal, some fuel tank Caps are also designed with a deadbolt device to prevent falling off or loss. In order to ensure the balance of air pressure in the tank, the air valve and steam valve are designed on the tank Cap, because the two valves are designed as one, so it is also called composite valve. When the gasoline in the tank decreases and the pressure drops below 96KPA, the air valve is opened by the atmospheric pressure and outside air enters the tank to balance the vacuum in the tank to ensure the normal supply of gasoline; when the gasoline vapour pressure in the tank is greater than 107.8KPA, the vapour valve is opened by the top and the gasoline vapour is released to the atmosphere (for cars with fuel evaporation control devices it is released to the charcoal canister). In order to keep the pressure in the tank normal, thus ensuring stable petrol pressure.

II. Nitrile rubber sealing ring
1. Nitrile rubber (NBR) is used for the sealing ring of the fuel tank lid, and more acrylonitrile is added during the production, which has good oil resistance.
2. NBR has good water resistance, air tightness and adhesion, it is water resistant, solvent resistant and high pressure resistant.
3. NBR has good elasticity and wear resistance and is generally used in some of the more important seals in automobiles.
